Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders
Substance Use Disorders
Substance use is more prevalent in LGBTQ+ communities, often as a response to minority stress, trauma, and isolation. Outspace offers judgment-free care that treats substance use and mental health together.
Most patients pay less than $30 per appointment.
What is Substance Use Disorders?
Substance use disorder (SUD) is a medical condition involving problematic use of alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, opioids, or other substances. It frequently co-occurs with depression, PTSD, ADHD, and anxiety. Treating one without the other rarely works.
How it affects LGBTQ+ people
Higher rates of substance use in LGBTQ+ communities are driven by minority stress, bar culture as historically one of few safe social spaces, and self-medication of untreated mental health conditions. At Outspace, you do not have to hide your identity or your use to get care.
Our treatment approach
We offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol use disorder (naltrexone, acamprosate) and opioid use disorder (buprenorphine), alongside mental health treatment. We take a harm reduction approach and meet you where you are.

Therapy is often the first brave step toward healing—and I’m so proud of you for starting on that path. I believe deeply in the power of being seen, heard, and understood, especially in moments when life feels heavy, messy, or uncertain.

I work best with clients who are feeling stuck—like something in life has shifted, and the tools that once worked just aren’t cutting it anymore. My ideal client is one who is going through a challenge in life that is causing them to feel stuck or regress in everyday functioning.
