ADHD
ADHD is frequently underdiagnosed in LGBTQ+ adults. Outspace psychiatrists provide thorough evaluation and medication management tailored to your experience.
Most patients pay less than $30 per appointment.
What is ADHD?
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition involving inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that significantly impairs daily functioning. In adults, it often presents as difficulty focusing, poor working memory, time management challenges, and emotional dysregulation.
How it affects LGBTQ+ people
Research shows ADHD is more common in gender-diverse people, particularly transgender and nonbinary individuals. It is also frequently misattributed to anxiety or trauma in LGBTQ+ patients, leaving many adults without a diagnosis until later in life.
Our treatment approach
Outspace provides ADHD medication management including stimulants (amphetamines, methylphenidate) and non-stimulants (atomoxetine, bupropion, guanfacine). We assess your full history and co-occurring conditions to find the right fit.

Therapy is often the first brave step toward healing—and I’m so proud of you for starting on that path. I believe deeply in the power of being seen, heard, and understood, especially in moments when life feels heavy, messy, or uncertain.

I work best with clients who are feeling stuck—like something in life has shifted, and the tools that once worked just aren’t cutting it anymore. My ideal client is one who is going through a challenge in life that is causing them to feel stuck or regress in everyday functioning.

-
Chronic stress from discrimination can worsen inattention and executive dysfunction. Hypervigilance from navigating unsafe environments can also mask or mimic ADHD symptoms.
-
ADHD involves a lifelong pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity across multiple settings that significantly impairs functioning. It is not a willpower issue.
-
When prescribed and monitored correctly, yes. Stimulants are among the most studied medications in psychiatry. We screen for contraindications and monitor closely.

Non-stimulants including atomoxetine, guanfacine, bupropion, and viloxazine are effective alternatives for many people

Generally, ADHD medications and HRT are safe together. We review all medications to confirm there are no interactions.

Not always. A clinical interview and history are typically sufficient for diagnosis. We determine what is needed based on your situation.
